Click here Friday 24 April, 2020 MEDIA ADVISORY –- DIAL-IN DETAILS FOR WHO LAUNCH EVENT AND VPC TODAY, 24 APRIL Dear journalists, WHO Department of Communications invites you to a virtual launch today of a landmark collaboration to accelerate the development, production and equitable distribution of vaccines, diagnostics, and therapeutics for COVID-19. The live video streaming of the event will start at 13:00 GMT/15:00 Geneva time and be immediately followed by the regular WHO COVID-19 press conference. The aim of this new collaboration is to make vaccines, diagnostics, and therapeutics for COVID-19 accessible to everyone who needs them, worldwide. The launch will last approximately 60-90 minutes and be followed by the regular WHO COVID-19 virtual press conference. Who: The launch of the new collaboration is being co-hosted by WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The virtual event will include senior United Nations, government and public health and industry leaders from around the world. How to join the Virtual Press Events: There are two ways to follow today’s events, for 1) media representatives and 2) members of the public. 1. Kindly note, only questions from media (one per journalist) will be allowed during the press conference. In addition, if the capacity of the room is reached, individuals who are not named correctly might need to make room for registered journalists. Therefore, please ensure that you are named correctly with your name and media outlet. In addition, WHO reserves the right to remove any participant whose behaviour causes any disruption or interruption to the proceedings. If the capacity of the room is reached, or for any other reason you are not able to access the zoom meeting, kindly note that the event is also broadcast on WHO social media channels and you can follow it there. Please note that we receive a large volume of questions and will answer as many as we can during the time allowed. To ask a question, please click "raise hand" and this will enter you into the queue for questions.
