COVID-19 response: first meeting of the Pan-European Commission on Health and Sustainable Development WHO/Europe online press briefing On Thursday 27 August 2020, at 11:00 (CEST) The Pan-European Commission on Health and Sustainable Development – a high-level independent body set up to review evidence and draw regional lessons from the current pandemic, and make policy recommendations regarding health and social care – held its first inaugural meeting on Wednesday 26 August. The Commission has been convened in response to COVID-19 crisis. After identifying and reviewing the relevant evidence, it will make recommendations on how policies should be re-framed in terms of forecasting, preventing and responding to similar global or regional threats in the future.
